I have to be honest in saying that the love song just isn’t what it used to be. I almost feel bad for younger generations of music fans who don’t hear enough well-written, well-arranged and well-performed heartfelt love songs unless they “dig in the crates” of their parents’ old records or listen to “old school” radio stations. For example, there are film to some of today’s so-called R&B/Soul music that are just as explicit or sometimes more so than anything you’d hear on a Hip-Hop record.

So stand up and get ready to get motivated to overcome obstacles. This playlist is empowering no matter what color you are. It will touch you, resonate with you at your core, and make you MOVE! The legacy of this music lives on.

In addition to singing, Furtado has recently added acting to her list of skills. She made her debut in the 2006 movie “Nobody’s Hero” and had a role in 2008’s “Max Payne” movie. She has also appeared on television in the shows CSI: New York and Roswell.

I’m not sure if it were meant to be used by characters in the Narrative, which renders the device defunct in my hands, but since we’re allowing ourselves some liberties reserved for the novice, I’d like to plead “Unreliable Narrator,” and assure that I cover this very contentious issue-Lazoo’s son and the light in which he’s portrayed in GUIOPERA II by “The Guy,” which I might add has something to do with Metofeaz Litigatti, good old Feeaz, the whimsical one, the fall guy; where the hell would I be without that guy, ah?

‘Teenagers’ was the last thing you would expect from MCR. An upbeat alternative rock tune with a 12 bar blues feel doesn’t appear very often, let alone go platinum. But the catchy sing along feel is in stark contrast to some subversive and controversial lyrics. The lyrics touch on gun crime “what you’ve got under your shirt. Will make them pay for the things they’ve done” and authoritarianism “They’re gonna clean up your looks, With all the lies in the books… So they can watch all the things you do” etc. Not the norm for a top 30 hit but then, that’s My Chemical Romance!

1) Take the Check. I’ve heard a lot of folks try to be proud and not file for unemployment. NO! Take the check. This is money you have earned and the government has taken away. Time to cash in! Take the check. You may be in for a long haul so any extra pennies help. UE is probably about 25-45% of what you used to get a week. This is nice for the occasional movie, beer run or credit card payment. It takes about ten minutes of work every few weeks. Also, it takes about a month before check start rolling in regularly. Next month you will need it.

So next time you decide to perform a cover, give some consideration to these points. How are you going to delver the vocal? In what ways are you going to hold true to the original. And finally, how are you going to add your own style to it? If you consider these questions before you perform, you’re sure to give your audiences a cool experience. Have fun.
